The ETA Canada allows you to enter Canada even if you don't hold a visa. It is therefore a required travel authorization. The application for an ETA is simple and fast and should be done on the Internet by filling the official form.
Explanation about the ETA canada
The term "electronic travel authorization" is abbreviated to ETA. Indeed, the Electronic Travel Authorization document in Canada is not a paper document, but rather an electronic authorization replacing the need for a visa. The Canadian Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship office assesses each application (IRCC). If you are not a threat to security, the application is accepted. Once you have checked in, the airline will confirm whether your ETA is valid using the information in your passport. This keeps unwanted people at bay and ensures the safety of air traffic.
Will I require an ETA to visit Canada?
When traveling to Canada on business, vacation or to visit friends and family, it is imperative that you obtain an ETA. Children under the age of 18 are also required to have an ETA. As long as you hold a U.S. or Canadian visa or passport, an EV is not required.
Would you like to remain in Canada for a longer period? You will have to obtain a visa. The process is more difficult and costly than obtaining an ETA. In addition, an ETA will be granted more quickly, on average within three days and within 18 minutes in emergencies.
