EUHR Solana condemns terrorist attack in Beirut

Sommaire: 19 September 2007, Brussels - Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), has strongly condemned the terrorist attack carried out today in Beirut:

"I condemn in the strongest possible terms the car bomb attack that killed several people in Beirut, among whom the Lebanese MP Antoine Ghanem. He is the third deputy from the Majority to be assassinated in this manner in less than a year. This is a despicable crime.

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and express my solidarity to the Lebanese government.
