
Sommaire: Central Asia: EU Commission helps to promote stability and security (3 January 2006: Brussels)
The European Commission is providing €66 million in assistance to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to help fight poverty, strengthen their national institutions, and to further enhance regional co-operation. The assistance forms part of a long term programme of EU support designed to promote stability, security and economic development in the region. The €66 million funds will be used to support ongoing institutional, legal and administrative reforms in Central Asia starting 2006.
