Biography of Head of Delegation in Nairobi

Ambassador Eric van der Linden,
Head of the Delegation of the European Commission in Kenya

Ambassador Eric van der Linden is the Head of Delegation to Kenya and Somalia; he is also accredited to UNEP and Habitat.

Mr van der Linden was born in the Netherlands in January 1948. He holds a degree in Economics specializing in econometrics, statistical analysis and operations research from Vrije Universiteit Brussels.

He has a wealth of experience in the European Commission having held numerous positions with the European Commission for 30 years prior to his posting to Kenya in September 2005. For five years before his posting to Kenya Mr van der Linden served as Head of Delegation in the new EU Member States of Slovenia and Slovakia.
