EUHR Solana congratulates Serbian people on peaceful conduct of Parliamentary elections

"I would like to congratulate the Serbian people on the free and peaceful parliamentary elections held yesterday in Serbia.

I hope that a new government can be formed rapidly, which would be strongly committed to reforms and to meeting the necessary conditions for further progress towards Europe. The European Union would give such a government all its support.

After the signing of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement the country is now well positioned to advance rapidly".
