Somalia: EUHR Solana welcomes agreement signed in Jeddah

The High Representative pays tribute to King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, and Prince Saud Al-Faisal, whose patient and determined efforts led to the conclusion of this substantive agreement. The agreement provides for a new phase in the endeavours to achieve reconciliation amongst all the Somali people to be launched in a time frame which Mr SOLANA hopes will be as short as possible.

At a time when Africa is advancing along the road to peace, the international community must continue to follow Somalia closely.
