
Summary: 10 September 2007, Brussels - Javier SOLANA, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), today met Ambassador Miroslav LAJČAK, High Representative (HR) and EU Special Representative (EUSR) for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At the meeting they discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely the pending police reform which is the necessary step towards the signature of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA).
Mr Solana expressed his full support for the work of the HR/EUSR and his efforts to find a compromise on police reform with the BiH political party leaders. He urged them to engage constructively on the latest initiative presented by Ambassador Lajčak, so as to remove the last obstacle preventing BiH from concluding the SAA with the EU. He called on the BiH authorities to act responsibly in order to finally deliver for the BiH people.
