Iran: EUHR Solana welcomes IAEA Board decision

Summary: Iran: EUHR Solana welcomes IAEA Board decision (4 February 2006: Brussels)

Javier SOLANA, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), welcomed today's decision by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to report Iran to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) owing to serious concerns about its nuclear programme.

HR Solana said the Board's adoption by an overwhelming majority of the resolution reporting Iran to the UNSC sent a clear signal to Iran that it must comply with the demands of the international community to cooperate fully with the IAEA.

This statement is attributable to Cristina Gallach, Spokesperson of HR Solana.
