Comments by Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the CFSP, reacting to remarks attributed to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran

Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) made the following statement after the remarks attributed to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran:

"If correctly reported, this position is unacceptable. We are at a moment when the prospects of a lasting settlement in the Middle East, based on the principles of a two-state solution, are better than for many years. All responsible leaders should be working hard for this goal."
