EUHR Solana to visit UN

Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the CFSP, to visit United Nations, New York 13-21 September 2005

Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), will visit the United Nations Headquarters in New York between Tuesday, 13 September, and Wednesday, 21 September, 2005.

The visit will take place in the context of the UN World Summit (14-16 September) and the launching of the 60th session of the UN General Assembly The UN World Summit will attract heads of state and government from 170 different nations.

During the first part of his stay in New York, the EU High Representative will hold bilateral meetings with various international political leaders. As of 17 September, he will participate in a series of meetings with foreign counterparts under the EU-troika format.

On Tuesday 20 September, he will take part in a principals'-level Middle East Quartet meeting. A dinner address at the Council of Foreign Relations is scheduled later during the day.
