European Commission consults public on establishment of an area of freedom, security, and justice

Summary: August 5, 2004: The European Commission consults the public on future guidelines for the new programme on establishment of an area of freedom, security and justice (Brussels)

Opened a public consultation: DA - DE - EL - EN - ES - FI - FR - IT - NL - PT - SV

For the future, priorities following on from Tampere must be finalised but greater attention must be paid to the national implementation of the instruments adopted.

Future guidelines

The subjects involved are sensitive and at the focus of the interest of the European citizens, and the Commission believes that a public consultation process can help in the definition of the new programme. Contributions on the new programme can be sent to the Commission until 31 August 2004. The e-mail address is: Jai-Tampere-consultation@cec.eu.int
