EU Presidency declaration on the upcoming Presidential elections in Serbia

In view of the next Presidential elections in Serbia, the EU recalls its engagement in support of the consolidation of democracy and democratic institutions in Serbia and hopes for a successful outcome of these elections, which would represent an important step in this respect.

At the same time, the EU notes that an update of the electoral provisions would have made it easier to successfully conclude the electoral process.

The Acceding Countries Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia, the Associated Countries Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey and the EFTA countries, members of the European Economic Area align themselves with this declaration.
