Summary: October 27, 2003: Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the CFSP, condemns the latest terror attacks in Baghdad (Brussels)
Javier Solana, EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, condemns the latest attacks in Baghdad that killed and wounded a large number of people, in the Al-Rashid Hotel, at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) compound and in various other locations in the city.
"I strongly condemn this heinous string of attacks against coalition forces, police facilities and humanitarian workers. Iraq and its people are the main victims of this terror campaign.
I wish to underline that targeting humanitarian workers in the country - especially an organisation such as the ICRC - is deeply shocking and totally unjustifiable. The civilised world cannot and will not give up on the safe haven provided by humanitarian law and organisations to all the victims of all conflicts".
