
Summary: December 14, 2002: Presidency Conclusions of the Copenhagen European Council on 12 and 13 December 2002
The European Council welcomed the unprecedented and historic milestone achieved at its summit in Copenhagen on December 12-13, 2002 to overcome the legacy of conflict and division in Europe: namely, the conclusion of membership negotiations with Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia.
